HISTORY OF THE WHITE BUFFALO

The building we are in has been many things over the years including a gas station, farm stand, and an art gallery. The White Buffalo statue in front of our building, made by local artist Gilbert Clarke has been there for nearly 20 years! Bison can reach up to 6 feet 6 inches tall, 10 feet long, and weigh 900 to 2,200 pounds. The White Buffalo is considered to be a sacred sign in several Native American religions, and has great spiritual importance.

The great American bison is a truly magnificent animal. It is the largest land mammal in North America since the end of the Ice Age. White buffalo are extremely rare; The National Bison Association has estimated that they only occur in approximately one out of every 10 million births.

White Buffalo is dedicated to great bottles of wine, tasty food, and friendly people. We are a combination wine shop and wine bar & bistro offering more than 200 wines from around the world. We specialize in Northwest Wines and fresh simple cuisine. Our goal is to match people with delicious bottles of wine. We offer 10 or more wines daily to enjoy by the taste or glass for a small fee. We are happy to suggest wines from our daily tasting menu or a perfect wine for any occasion. We also offer wine classes and a great environment for learning about local wines.

WINE TASTING

We live in a perfect setting to explore and discover the best qualities of wine. Make your first stop your local wine shop! We feature local and international wine varieties by the glass, bottle, and case We also have regional micro-brews on tap. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, fantastic chocolates, and a great menu for pairing with wine. We also have picnic and gift baskets, and wine accessories! You may come in a stranger, but you will leave with new friends! At the Buffalo, you don’t have to be a connoisseur to enjoy a glass of wine. (But don’t be surprised if you become one.) Instead, we invite you to simply taste and enjoy. Start your evening with a glass from our tasting board and shared plates of bistro fare. Celebrate any occasion—date nights, birthdays, or anniversaries with a tasting, flight, glass, or bottle. Our comfortable and charming space is the perfect place to relax with others or just escape with a glass of fine wine. Our wine experts are always available to educate you about wine, and demonstrate wine tasting techniques.
